FILLING OF MARKED WRINKLES

The filling of facial superficial wrinkles and folds and its application to restore facial volumes grants excellent results that satisfy remarkably the patient’s expectations.
Nevertheless, the correction of slight and deep furrows results to be more difficult, above all on areas with strong dynamic contraction, particularly thickened or thinned skin and marked hypo-/atrophy of subcutaneous fat. In such cases there is a high risk of an aesthetically unpleasant correction with “string” effect along the furrow and of hypercorrection on the areas adjacent to the implant. In this case, by using NASHA hyaluronic acid (i.e. particulate hyaluronic acid at a fixed concentration of 20 mgml), it was adopted a new technique of intradermic implant called “fern pattern”. This technique grants an even and effective correction of facial dynamic furrows, without adjacent hypercorrections and with filling support in the heart of the dynamic fold. The implant of NASHA gel stimulates the collagen synthesis, restores the components of the dermic matrix that result to be reduced in the “photodamaged” skin and stimulates therapeutically the collagen production, especially on athrophic and aged skin.
This allows to achieve more and more complete and long-lasting corrections with satisfactory final results free from the collateral imperfections.
THE TREATMENT ON MALE PATIENTS
The evaluation of male patients in a medical-aesthetical context must consider that - according to recent bibliographic data* - between 50 to 80% of men have an interest in skin care. In their professional experience the Authors divided the protocols of medical-aesthetical treatment into 2 groups: the first one aged between 28 and 40 with problems connected to results of acne and folliculitis and a slight degree of aging; and the second group aged between 40 and 60 with moderate to marked degree of aging on facial skin.
When choosing the protocols the Authors took into consideration the male expectations** from the aesthetical point of view:
• Specific corrections for man, with no risk of “womanizing effect”
• Various benefits
• Short and quick treatment
• Safety
• Respect for the features of one’s own face
• Low risk of side effects
Therefore, aesthetic corrections are mainly aimed to improve as follows:
- skin dryness
- combination of fine, deep, mimic wrinkles and furrows (forehead, eyelids- eye contour)
- redefinition of facial contours (nose, cheek bones, chin)
- hyper-/hypopigmentations, lentigos
- lost of tone and elasticity
- skin laxity

The two different protocols include a more curative part with the associated use of superficial and middle peelings together with deep hydration through injective treatment of NASHA hyaluronic acid with Hydroresrve effect. The corrective part makes use of the botulinic toxin type A and of reabsorbable fillers with NASHA hyaluronic acid in different formulations. In particular, this implies the use of hyaluronic acid in macroparticles for facial reshaping, through overperiosteum implant with smoothed cannula, and combined implant techniques of NASHA fillers on different skin levels.
